September Favourites September 24, 2016
And just like that, Fall has arrived and we’re about to bid September farewell. The season has changed and so have a few items in my everyday routine. I’ve gathered a few of my favourites in beauty and lifestyle that I’ve been using this month that I was really impressed with.
This Tartelette palette has been featured in a few of my posts already, but I absolutely love the “in bloom” palette by Tarte Cosmetics. I bought it while I was at a Sephora event earlier this month and it has been my go-to palette. It’s an all-in-one eyeshadow palette that has both matte and some metallic shades so you can use the matte colours for an everyday look, and the shimmer ones for an evening or special occasion. I don’t know about you, but in other palettes, there are always a few colours I never touch, mainly the purples or blues, just because they’re shades that I’m not comfortable wearing. However, this palette has hues of browns and pinks that are perfect for a natural look that I go for.
This next product is a lipstick that I have been looking for for years. You know that red carpet red lipstick everyone wants? I’ve looked for that vibrant red colour in department stores, drugstores and even specialty stores but never could find that perfect red hue until I came across the Smashbox Always on Matte Lipsticks. “Bawse” by Superwoman is that poppy red lipstick you want to get your hands on. It’s so pigmented and matte in finish and I absolutely love it for that. I’ve had a few events this month and this has been my go-to lipstick colour to complete my look.
I’m not dedicated to one shampoo brand. I’ll buy whatever is on sale and depending on how my hair is feeling in that particular moment. I have dry, frizzy and wavy hair so I usually look for something that will hydrate and nourish my hair to avoid any breakage. Whole Blends shampoo and conditioner was a brand that I heard of and I finally tried it out when I saw it on sale at Walmart. I really like the coconut oil and cocoa butter version that tames and controls frizz. It leaves my hair so soft and it smells amazing, so good that I can’t stop sniffing my hair. They have a wide range of Whole Blends shampoo, conditioners and other hair care so you’ll be sure to find one that suits your hair type.
I’ve been using this perfume for years and interestingly I’ve gotten a lot of questions from friends and colleagues on what perfume I use. It’s Ralph Lauren’s Romance. It’s a timeless scent that’s perfect all year-round. It has the sensual essence of velvety woods, extravagant florals, and seductive musk. You unfortunately cannot find it in-store at Sephora anymore, but I noticed that they still offer it online and at department stores such as The Bay. I like getting the travel size bottle so that you can freshen up throughout the day or take it with you on your travels.
I’m constantly drinking water and I heard a lot of talks regarding S’well bottles. I finally got one at Indigo with a marble pattern. I love this bottle because not only does it carry a good amount of water so I know that I’ll be stocked up for the day, but it also keeps water crisp cold. If you’re going apple picking or for a hike, this bottle will keep you hydrated with fresh cold water. They’re available in different sizes so you’ll be sure to find one that suits your lifestyle.
