I love surprises, especially when they involve adorable little goodies. Every month, I wait with great anticipation for my White Willow Box. It’s different than a food or beauty subscription box because you can get a range of different products such as food, home décor, fashion and beauty, and the April box is a great at exemplifying this. It’s also a Canadian company and I’m all for supporting my nation’s businesses,
Gluten-free vanilla cake mix ($8)
I never baked with gluten-free ingredients but I’ve always been curious to see how the final product will come out in terms of taste and texture. Now I can see for myself! All you need is a bag of the gluten-free cake mix, 1 1/4 cups of milk, 4 eggs and 2/3 cup of vegetable oil. Not only is it gluten-free, it’s also, corn, nut, dairy, soy, sulphite and Xanthan gum-free. I’ll be making cupcakes with this some time this week and will top them with my classic buttercream, yum!
Natural foaming face wash ($22)
This 100% natural foam face cleanser contains tea tree oil and grape seed oil that will hydrate your skin, eliminate uneven skin tone and fight blemishes. It’s a unscented 3-in-1 product that will cleanse your face, remove makeup and restores your pH balance, so there’s no need for a toner. This is a great product to use when you’re travelling because it will eliminate the number of products you carry with you. It’s the winner of Best Cleanser by the Globe and Mail.
White Soleil candle ($24)
An adorable decorative candle in a ceramic holder adorned with a sun pattern and smells like fresh flowers. Lover of all things gold, I absolutely love this! Lit or not, it’s a pretty little accent to put on your bookshelf, desk or even coffee table. There were two versions of the candle, both of which have different scents. I receive the Essence of Florets candle, which is a mix of chic mimosa, purple freesia, blue hydrangea, tuberose, cozy musk and soft sandalwood.
Earl Grey Imperial Tea sachets ($6)
I love tea. It’s my daily cup of coffee, so I have at least a cup every day. I was really excited to see this gem in the box because I now have more tea to try out! It comes in a precious branded tin with 5 sachets of earl grey tea. What’s great about having this in the same subscription box as the gluten-free cake mix, you can steep some tea and add it to the batter to create a gluten-free London Fog cake.
Classic double pearl earrings ($25)
I love everything pearl, especially pearl earrings. I’ve see the double pearl trend around for a while, but never thought too much of it. Seeing that I was getting my very own pair in the subscription box got my very excited. When I took them out of the little pouch, the pearls were much bigger than I expected. The good this is that they’re lightweight so although the back pearl is big, it won’t pull your earlobe down. The posts are long so it provides added support and security. With a subtle gold trimming, these earrings are a great pairing with a LBD or a fancy dress for a night out.
