Sephora is like a vortex. There’s something about that store that draws you in and sways you into buying not just one, but many items. Sephora is my candy store. I’m always spritzing perfume, swatching lipsticks and buffing out bronzers. I’m a happy girl in there.
This morning was their VIB Rouge event where you received up to 4X the points depending on your membership status, indulged in some coffee and goodies and walked out with some free swag. I love free sample because not only are they the perfect travel size, but it’s also an opportunity for me to try a product out before dishing the dollars on the full size.
When I heard about the event, I immediately knew that I had to get the Tartelette in Bloom palette. As a current owner of the Tartelette Amazonian Clay palette, I’m already sold on the quality, texture and colours that a Tartelette palette has to offer. With the latter having neutral matte colours, the “in bloom” edition has pretty shimmers for those special occasion or date night looks. I’m a matte kind of girl, but the metallic colours will complement and spruce up a matte look. The colours build up very well so you can use a bit for a more natural look, or build up the colours for a more pigmented and intense look. I can’t believe it took my this long to get my hands on one of these, but I can now say that I’m a very proud owner of both Tartelette palettes.
The next item I purchased was to replace my MAC Prep + Prime Fix spray. I use a fix spray to set my makeup or to spray on my brushes to intensify an eyeshadow colour. I picked up the Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix spray, which has a nice subtle and fresh scent to it. It’s lightweight and non-sticky, which is ideal for longer lasting makeup. It also creates a sweat-proof, rub-resistant barrier for fresh-looking makeup that lasts up to 12 hours. It hydrates your skin as well, giving you an all-day glow.
Last but not least, I got a product for the hair, Ouai’s Texturizing Hair Spray. If dry shampoo and hairspray were to join forces, the result would be this ultra-lightweight hairspray. It builds volume and texture to limp hair and absorbs oil to get rid of shine and give you refreshed hair. It’s scented with Ouai No. 3 Fragrance, containing notes of Italian bergamot, water lily, and white musk so it smells wonderful. If you’re hitting up the town or going to dinner after work, this is the perfect product to revitalize your hair.
