Having a good hair day versus a bad one can make a significant difference in your mood and level of energy, at least for me. When I’m trying to manage a bad hair day in the morning and it just won’t cooperate, I already feel defeated and the day hasn’t even begun. Then there are the days I wake up and every hair strand got in to formation and there’s no maintenance needed. Regardless of the situation, I’m bound to use hairspray.
For the past decade or so (just saying that makes me feel so old!), my go-to hairspray is the TRESemmé Très Two Extra Hold so I’m very familiar with the brand and love it. TRESemmé came out with a new line of compressed micro mist hairsprays to give you runway hair with style without stiffness. There are four different types of hairspray, depending on what look you’re trying to achieve.
- Level 1: Texture
- Level 2: Smooth
- Level 3: Boost
- Level 4: Extend
Chickadvisor was gracious enough to send me a Level 1 hairspray to review. I have thick and naturally wavy hair when air dried, so I was happy to test out a hairspray that will provide texture and shape to my hair. The main difference between this line and the Très Two hairspray that I’ve been using is their micro mist technology, which sprays superfine micro mist so that it also reached the under layers of your hair.
When styling my hair, I’ll take my wand and accentuate some of my waves and spray the Level 1 hairspray throughout. My waves last throughout the day and I’m able to run my fingers through them without falling onto hairspray knots or dry patches. Although it mentions that it controls humidity, I find that my hair has been crazy static-y because the Montreal weather has been back and forth between the two extremes (yes, we had a snowfall in mid-April). I’ll have to try the hairspray once the weather has simmered down to see if it controls humidity. Overall, I get the hold that a hairspray would provide without feeling like I’m wearing any. What more can you ask for!
The packaging is sleek and slender and contains 50% less gas than their traditional cans, which means it’s better for us and the environment! The hairspray is so affordable, retailing at $5.76.
