As much as I love my cup of joe in the morning, my afternoon routine involves a cup or two, or even a few of tea. Tea has great properties and health benefits – it helps in digestion, speeds up your metabolism, relieves a sore throat – and it simply feels good to hold something warm, especially in the wintertime. My go-to teas are mint (aids in digestion), green tea (increases your metabolism) and ginger tea (cleanses your palette, system and is great if you’re feeling under the weather).
I was really excited to receive Pure Leaf Teas from Chickadvisor in two great flavours: Pure Matcha and Ginger with Orange Blossom. I’ve tried their cold-brewed iced tea in the past but not their tea bags. Pure Leaf herbal teas are sustainably sourced and made with high-quality ingredients to provide you with perfect blend and balance of flavour.
Typically, I like my tea strong and flavourful, and these teas deliver in taste. All you need is one sachet of the ginger and orange blossom herbal tea. The smell is so divine as well! It reminds me very much of a ginger tea to which you add some lemon. I added a little bit of honey because I’m feeling borderline sick and I’m taking every precautionary measure possible to avoid being so.
Have you ever enjoyed a matcha latte from Starbies? With Pure Leaf’s pure matcha tea, you can easily make it at home. I empty out the powder into my favourite monogrammed mug from Indigo and pour hot water a quarter up the mug and allow the powder to fully dissolve. In a saucepan on the stove top, I gently heat up some almond milk and mix it with the matcha liquid. If you like it a little sweeter, you can add a dollop of agave syrup or a honey.
