If you knew me personally, you’d know that I’m always in a dress or skirt, regardless of the season. I especially absolutely fall head over heels for a LBD, so when I was browsing on the Boutique 1861 website and stumbled upon this dress, I knew I had to get it even though I didn’t have a specific occasion to wear it for. Paired with nude accessories, you have a classy ensemble for any occasion.
I love this outfit because it reflects my style to the tee. For a formal occasion, I can’t think of a better colour combination than black and nude. Years ago, I would have kept it very Audrey Hepburn and paired the LBD with black pumps and pearl jewellery. Now with the nude accent, it’s more of a sophisticated and modern look.
This dress. I don’t know where to start. I love the halter cut around the neck and the fact that the back mirrors the cut in the front. I’m not a huge fan of anything halter with the open back that ties behind the neck. Personally, I think it’s very 90’s and I’ve been there, worn that, and it’s off to better trends. The pleats in the cocktail length a-line skirt create a little pouf, which I love. It’s such a pretty dress that will allow you to party and dance the night away comfortably because of the straps and its length.
The handbag is the final touch to any look, at least it is for me. It’s difficult to find a clutch to match every look, and since I don’t have one in every colour of the rainbow, I usually opt to use a simple black clutch. It’s not perfect, but I always tell myself it’ll do. Until I found this one! There are two things about the clutch that I absolutely love. For one, it’s a Kate Spade clutch (if you knew me you would know I’m absolutely obsessed with all things KS). For two, it’s in a neutral nude colour, so it can go with practically every outfit. It’s a convenient small purse that fits all the essentials that comes with a removable shoulder strap, so you can either be hands-free and carry it on your shoulder, or tuck it under your arm without it.
