Just like your skin, your hair needs a different routine as the seasons change. Now that the cold season is nearing an end, my hair has endured much damage and is in need of a little TLC. My hair is naturally wavy and frizzy, and having thick hair makes it hard to maintain this mane. I try to grow it long but at a certain point, my hair becomes dull and loses its shape to the point where I opt for a slicked-back ponytail. I get my hair cut every 3 months or so, to snip off split ends (I get many of them) and just to bring life back into my hair. In between haircuts, I try to lather my hair with products that will nourish, fortify, protect and hydrate my hair. I was excited to try Love Beauty & Planet’s Hope & Repair line, which is targeted to recover damaged hair.
Thanks to Chickadvisor, I was able to test out the shampoo, conditioner, hair oil and body wash. This line is made with coconut oil and ylang ylang essential oil so it smells so divine! The smell of coconut reminds me of sunscreen, which I of course associate to summer. This is exactly what these products smell like so it brings me a little summer sunshine although we’re still in the midst of cold weather!
All of Love Beauty & Planet’s Coconut Oil & Ylang Ylang shampoo contains ethically and sustainably-sourced ingredients, which means every time you use it, you’re giving a little love back to the planet. After using the shampoo, my hair felt much softer and revitalized. The product doesn’t foam up too much so it doesn’t take much effort or water to rinse it out, but my hair feels cleansed nevertheless. When using the Coconut Oil & Ylang Ylang Conditioner, only a dollop is needed since you concentrate mostly on the tips.
The Coconut Oil & Ylang Yland Body Wash lathers very well onto the skin and leaves it feeling soft and smelling fresh. I use a loofah to ensure only using the amount needed to avoid using an unnecessary amount of water to wash off excess product.
After stepping out of the shower and once my hair is damp, I pump out a bit of the 3-in-1 Benefit Oil in the palms of my hands and work it into the ends of my hair to prevent any future breakage. You honestly won’t stop smelling your hair after using all these products!
I’m not sure if it’s the products or just the humidity in the air, but I started to notice that my hair is static-y recently. Nothing hairspray can’t fix, but it was an observation that I made.
Overall, these are great products that are gentle on both your hair and body as they are for the planet. Containing essential oils from around the world and packaged in 100% recycled bottles, the company is taking great steps to becoming sustainable and reducing its carbon footprint.
