With Halloween out of the way, it’s full speed ahead on the holiday planning. I love the holiday season, not only because it’s a special time of the year to enjoy the company of loved ones over good food and wine, but there’s something about the holiday lights, the falling snow and the Christmas songs playing literally everywhere you go (you know you can’t escape it!).
With just more than a month ahead of us, we know that’s barely enough time to get your gift shopping done before the malls are chaotic zones to avoid. And for that exact reason, I know many of you dread for Christmas’ arrival. I’ve put together a list of my top 5 favourite things to both give and receive, and I know that it will come in handy to help you cross a few people off your list. What’s more, you’ll find all these products at Indigo or Indigo.ca!
S’well Bottle
You have probably already seen me rave about S’well bottles on the blog before, but I can’t stress enough how much I love mine. It’s practical and pretty and keeps my water crisp cold for the entire day. It’s so convenient to bring with you on-the-go and on your travels, or simply to have on your nightstand. What’s great about these bottles is that it comes in different sizes and adorns different patterns so you’re bound to find the perfect one that suits anyone’s personality.
Cable Knit Socks
If your toes have never wiggled in a pair of these ultra-soft mini waffle and sherpa socks, they’re definitely missing out! Being an individual who’s always cold, I mean always cold, these were an incredible gift to receive. They’re soft and fuzzy on the inside and will keep your little piggies nice and toasty on even the coldest days. You’ll look forward to putting these babies on first thing when you get home after a long day at work. Pair them with a cup of tea and good read, or even something on Netflix. These are great stocking stuffers or as a gift alone. You can’t go wrong with these socks!
Candles
Candles are perhaps an understated gift because it’s just a wick in wax. BUT, candles are very much appreciated, especially if they smell like the Indigo ones. My favourite is the crackling firewood and ember, very much more so during the holidays. It makes me reminisce of childhood Christmases and it feels just like home. Indigo has a great selection of scented candles, and trust me, you’ll be spending hours just going back and forth taking whiffs from every one of them. These are also great stocking stuffers or a simple gift for someone like a teacher or neighbour.
Mug
I have an unhealthy obsession for mugs, especially Indigo’s Expressions mugs. They’re always adorned with pretty quotes and they’re the perfect gift to fill with little treats. Pair a mug with a homemade hot chocolate mix, a bag of yummy coffee or little chocolates. They’re perfect for coffees in the morning, tea in the afternoon and eggnog in the evening. They have a large handle and a gently tapered shape that feels good in your hands, and make a great feel-good gift, for yourself or a loved one.
Chrissy Teigen’s Cravings
Whether she’s a well-seasoned cook or still trying to find her way around the kitchen, Chrissy Teigen’s cookbook Cravings is a fun cookbook filled with comfort food recipes that are so easy to follow. I made her chicken pot soup and it’s to die for! It’s the perfect meal to cook up for a cold evening, and it freezes well so you can have extra portions for lunch or dinner throughout the week. You’ll find meal inspirations that are fantastic for the family, for a date night at home or even a dinner party among friends.
