It was a long weekend here in Montreal, and this year, I got to enjoy it at Gen Beauty in Toronto. Being at an event with 400+ attendees and over 20 exhibitors, I must admit it was an exhausting two days. Needless to say, it was a fantastic opportunity to meet with great brands, try out new products, and get dolled up. Did I mention the awesome swag bag I walked away with? This post won’t be about the products I got (but don’t worry, it’s in the works!), but rather a recap of the show itself. Check out the video I put together with the highlights of the weekend!
If you’re unfamiliar with Generation Beauty, it’s a convention that rounds up beauty creators and enthusiasts, and allows them to connect with some of the biggest brands in the beauty industry. Michelle Phan, YouTuber and creator of ipsy, started Gen Beauty in the US, in New York and San Francisco. Just last year, the event headed north of the border to Toronto to cater to Canadian beauty gurus.
In its second edition, we got to interact with 28 brands and had the option to take advantage of an “early access” pass, which allowed you to hit the floor an hour prior to it opening so that you can get first dibs and avoid ridiculously long lineups. Though it’s a $40 add-on, I HIGHLY suggest opting in for this because you get to spend more face time with brands and less time in lines.
Stay tuned for my beauty haul that will be up shortly, but for now, enjoy the video!
