We’ve all fallen in love at least once, at different points in our lives, towards different people, scenic views and even objects. Living in the world of beauty, I’ve fallen love-at-first-sight with a few beauty products that I’ve been using religiously ever since discovering them.
I can’t recall how I discovered Vasanti’s Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator, and quite frankly, whether it was online, in-store, or in some back alley, it doesn’t matter because it will forever be part of my skincare routine! I adore how effective this product is! It really treats dull skin and makes acne scars disappear! Although it’s an exfoliator, it’s gentle enough that you can use it every day. This is going to be my third empty so I’ll need to stock up soon!
A mask I indulge in is Filorga’s Scrub & Mask. I never considered Filorga products because I didn’t think I needed to start using anti-aging products, but little did I know (and a fun fact to share), as of 25 years of age, you’re in the target market to use such products! This is a bubble mask that pumps out of the jar as a cream, but once it’s applied onto the face, it bubbles up then fizzles. When all the foam has disappeared, simply rinse the product off the skin. It’s left incredibly soft! I was sold after the first use.
I discovered Pixi Beauty’s Glow Tonic at GenBeauty back in 2016 in Toronto and fell in love with it after the first application. It’s an alcohol-free toner that accelerates cell renewal to reveal healthy glowing skin. It appears clearer with a more refined texture, and minimized pores. It contains aloe vera so it has soothing actions and it smells great due to the gingseng. I use it morning and evening after cleansing my face.
Concidentally, I discovered this product at GenBeauty as well. Browsing through the different products at the Tarte Cosmetics booth, the gold packaging of the Tartelette Amazonian Clay palette caught my eye. I swatched the multi-tasker and dreamer shades and immediately fell in love! The pigmentation and the selection of colours are perfect. Plus, they’re all matte! There are some palettes that you’d hit pan on a few hues and others that you barely touch, so I was happy that I put all the colours to use!
My oily and acne-prone skin has a hard time getting along with products. Rather than allowing me to have a shine-free forehead, it wants its oiliness to be in front and centre stage under the spotlight. I’ve tried setting powders in the past, but some have given me a cakey look, others just didn’t even stand a chance. I received a PR package from Dermablend containing this Loose Setting Powder. I was sceptical at first, but told myself that I had nothing to lose! It becomes translucent upon application and holds onto the skin nicely. I don’t even need to touch up my makeup throughout the day!
Essie has been a beauty brand that I’ve adored for as long as I can remember. My Lip Smackers days were over and my taste in cosmetics became more refined. My preference for the classics, whether in fashion, beauty or in films, became prominent. I loved the name of this shade, Ballet Slippers, and how delicate and classic it is. It’s a pale pink polish with a sheer finish, perfect to wear all year round. I always apply 3 coats to get a semi-opaque look, and top with a top coat!
