One of my favourite topics to write about on the blog is skincare product reviews. There are tons of them available on the market ranging from fluids, creams, masks, and the list goes on. You continue filtering through the different classifications per your skin type. Then there’s the additional triage through anti-aging, day or night care, anti-pollution…it’s never ending!
To put things in context, I have oily/combo and acne-prone skin that’s sensitive to fabrics, facial scruff, and animals. In that one sentence, you can only imagine the kind of skincare regimen my face endures. From cleansers, serums, mattifiers, pore refiners, anti-breakout and spot treatment products, it’s a pretty lengthy process. I may be slightly overexaggerating considering that it only takes me 20 minutes to get ready in the morning. If only there was a product that could simplify the daily routine and prevent applying layer upon layer of products on my skin.
I recently started trying out a new product, Lait-Crème Concentré by Embryolisse, which is a multifunction moisturizer formulated for all skin types. It claims to be a very versatile product, a miracle cream: hydrating cream, makeup primer, beauty mask, cleanser, makeup remover, and an after-sun and aftershave care. How is this possible? I’m not sure, but I put it to the test to see how it acts and how my oily/combo and acne-prone skin reacts to it.
I must admit, I was very reluctant to use it as a moisturizer, in fear that my skin would badly react and breakout as it’s a cream that’s rich and thick in texture. After cleansing my face, I applied a toner and the cream. I opted out from using a serum, eye contour cream and a primer. I was pleasantly surprised that it held my makeup throughout the day and my t-zone wasn’t shiny at all!
In the evening, I applied a thicker layer on the face to use as a mask and used tea tree oil as a spot treatment. Upon waking up, my face didn’t feel greasy or clogged. I haven’t ventured further to see how effective it is to cleanse or remove makeup just yet, but I’ll keep you posted!
It contains natural ingredients such as soy proteins, aloe vera, emollient oil, beeswax and Shea butter that work together to make your skin supple, soft and smooth.
The Lait-Crème Concentré retails at $39 for a 75mL tube and can be purchased at your local Shoppers Drug Mart.
I absolutely love this cream. Everytime I come back to it I wonder why I ever stopped using it in the first place. I love that it’s amazing for all skin types. I have dry skin and this works wonders for me!
