when I was little, I loved getting goodie bags at the end of a birthday party, curious to know what treats I was going to take home. As I got older, I still believe party favours are a nice little touch, whether you’re at a birthday party, bridal shower, baby shower or even a corporate event. It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate or over the top. Getting a gift bag with a mug, sample-sized cosmetics, a small coin purse, or even a cupcake makes me smile. A really easy gift to put together are sweets in a mason jar. There’s hardly any work that gets put into it because you’re literally assembling things together, but I believe it’s all in the presentation and thought that recipients admire.
I bought a case of mason jars from Walmart and a selection of candy from Bulk Barn. You can purchase the jar size of your choice, from a little 100mL jar to a full size litre. You can tie a ribbon bow at the neck of the jar, paint the jars to personalize them or attach a tag with some string. I bought cardboard tags from Michaels and a “Thank you” stamp to attach to the mason jars.
Rinse out and let the mason jars dry completely before filling them with sweet treats. You can layer the candy to make pretty patterns or randomly fill them out. From here, feel free to be creative. I stamped some cardboard tags and strung them onto the jars.
